Is this real wool?

We went to Wheeler Farm yesterday. This is a historical farm, surrounded by city, about 15 miles from home. They have milking demonstrations, and barns with historical displays. They also have a number of other animals: pigs, goats, sheep, bunnies, horses, turkeys, chickens, and lots of ducks and geese. Sarah loved running around and looking at the animals, though she was hesitant to touch a lot of them. After touching the back of one of the pigs, she told me, "The pig says he doesn't want to be touched anymore."

While we were looking at the sheep- mostly mommas with babies- a couple Cub Scouts came up to the enclosure. After petting of one the sheep, one of them commented on the softness of the sheep saying, "Wow, this is almost like wool!"

I stifled my laughter until I walked away.
